Q. What does SimpleRanking do?
A. SimpleRanking is a free Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) tool. SimpleRanking.com allows users to find where a website ranks on the most popular search engines. The results are generated by user inputted data.
Q. How do I use SimpleRanking.com?
A. Simple. Follow these steps:
1. Enter a website url you wish to check, eg. www.download.cnet.com.
2. Now enter a keyword or search term, such as download software.
3. Confirm if you wish to search based on your location, or perform a global search.
4. Check the search engines you wish to use and the number of results you wish to filter.
5. Now click search, your SimpleRanking will be calculated and returned to you!
Q. What do the results mean?
A. For each selected search engine, a search is performed and results returned. The results indicate where the entered website ranked when a search is performed with the user entered keywords. The lower the position number the better.
SimpleRanking.com will award users a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal if their page ranks lower than 30. If your result is higher than this, a trash can is displayed, indicating that SEO is required to boost your position.
Q. What data can I enter?
A. The SimpleRanking search form accepts any data that can either be interpreted by a search engine, or used in a url/web address.
For example, you may set the keywords to purchase bunk bed. In the Website field, you can enter a specific site, eg. www.jasonsbeds.com or perhaps you wish to find out the position of the first result with the word bunk in the url.
In that case, simply entering bunk into the website field is sufficient. Have fun!

Q. Only 3 search engines, what gives?
A. Google ™, Yahoo ™, and Bing ™ represent 82.6% of all searches done on the internet. AOL™ and ASK™ both use Google™ to return search results. We therefore cover 91.5% of all searches made on the internet.
Q. Why does Google™ only return results within the first 64 sites?
A. This is a limit of the Google™ API. Currently Google™ only allows us to receive 64 results using the AJAX search API. We are waiting for Google to increase this limit, when this occurs, SimpleRanking.com will be immediately updated.
